Multilingual licensed guide
Your guide takes care of all the practicalities, opening hours, travel schedules, language barrier, organizes the visits at your own pace and makes commentaries on sites, in monuments, museums and cities.
Commentary is made in the visitor individual or group’s own language. Guides are expected to be fluent in several languages, interpreting inspiringly and entertainingly the cultural heritage. Only fully qualified guides are allowed to address groups or individuals. They must wear an official badge issued by their country’s authority.
Your guide will advise and assist you on all aspects of your journey. He’ll make sure that the amount of information provided suits your particular interests.
Training : There are two types of guides. Guide Interprète Regional (GIR) and Guide Interprète National (GIN). Both are accredited by the authority to conduct visits inside monuments, castles, museums churches etc. GINS have an in-depth knowledge. They undergo a systematic formal training in one of the 10 universities concerned by this training in France. Candidates are expected to be fluent in 2 foreign languages. Admission by competitive entrance exams.
